Battlefield Film Challenge - The Finalists

The Battlefield Film Challenge kicked off just over a month ago, calling for filmmakers, gamers and animators to submit a 2-5 minute short film inspired by the Battlefield franchise. We received more than 40 entries, ranging from the clever to the hilarious, from gameplay to motion comics, and I am glad I’m not picking a winner.
It was incredibly difficult for the judging team to cull it down to just 5 finalists. I saw shortlists of 17 dropped to 12, down to 8, and back up to 14. I’m still blown away by the quality of entries, and have never been prouder of the community. Every single entry deserves to be seen, and each of you should be amazingly proud of what you’ve created.
And so, in no particular order, here are the five finalists of the very first Battlefield Film Challenge:
- Play Time Updated – Rob Hardy
- Types of Players in Battlefield – Rebecca White
- Battlefield Noir – Briefly Salmon
- Take Point – Paddymazz
- Focused – The Floppy Ragdoll
The list has been submitted to DICE, who will pick the winner. The finalists will be flown to Sydney for a screening event at Bondi Pavilion next week, where the winner will be announced (and handed a GIANT CHEQUE for $10,000AUD!). We will announce the winner on our website www.battlefieldfilms.com and social media channels so stay tuned.
Watch the final five now:
I’d also like to take a moment to highlight some of the other entries we received. They may not have made the finals, but they definitely made an impression. Watch them here.
Once again, congratulations to the five finalists, and a massive thank you to all who entered. You can view all the entries here, and don’t forget to keep an eye out next week, when we announce the $10,000 prize winner!
See you on the Battlefield
