The latest Battlefield 3 expansion, Armored Kill, has started it's month-long deployment. The DLC contains four huge new maps (one of the biggest in Battlefield history), a small fortune worth of new military vehicles, a brand new gamemode and mountains of unlocks, assignments and achievements.
To celebrate the drop, we've collected all the best bits from the Battlefield blog.
Firstly, the latest Armored Kill launch trailer is up and offers some truly awe-inspiring moments. Vehicles feature heavily in the video (showcasing the new Tank Superiority gamemode) so why not grab five minutes and watch the video twice?
Tom "The Syndicate Project" and gaming buddy Joel "Incredible Orb" dropped by the Battlefield 3 booth at Gamescom for a hands-on with the Tank Superiority gamemode a few weeks back. After duking it out in Death Valley, the two gave their thoughts on the new mode in this post.
If you ever wondered what goes into developing levels for games like Battlefield, we asked Senior Environment Artist Andrew Hamilton and DICE Designer Inge Jøran Holberg about designing the four new Armored Kill levels, particularly the biggest map in Battlefield history, Bandar Desert.
If you think you've got what it takes to design a Battlefield 3 level, DICE are giving you the opportunity to impress them in the first competition for Premium members. Head over to the Premium competition page, pitch your map idea and you could win one of ten limited edition signed Battlefield lithograph prints.
For fans that aren't Premium members, this could be the month to check it out with this list of Premium content for September. Early access to the remaining expansions, exclusive assignments and access to Premium-only events, videos and content, become a Premium member here.
