SHOWING OUR SUPPORT -  Published 17/04/2013

The best way for the running community to show our solidarity and support for those who were hurt, and the family and friends of those who were killed in Boston, is to get out and do what we do best … run. Today, people all over North America are getting out to “Run for Boston”.  Here at EA Canada (Vancouver), we did a 5km lunch-time run to show our support and let those affected know that we care.

EA CAMPAIGNS FOR THE MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION - Published 28/02/2013

EA Outreach in Burnaby, B.C. recently launched a campaign to help raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of British Columbia & Yukon Canada. The team is hosting weekly events, like the chocolate buffet bar & fountain and root beer float fundraisers, and organizing a raffle to help raise money and awareness. One wish costs $6k, so they are hoping to raise $10K by mid-March.

On March 10th, EA Outreach will be holding the 11th annual EA Challenge. The EA Challenge is a huge event with media attachment (global and local news coverage) where 10 kids from MAW called “The Dream Team” compete against FIFA and NHL production staff and local sports celebrities in virtual hockey and soccer tournaments throughout the day.

On Wednesday, February 27th, EA Burnaby hosted the Pink Shirt Day in support of Anti-Bullying, a national campaign across Canada.

Employees purchased Pink shirts from reception and wore them all day in support of Anti-Bullying.  Proceeds from the sale of the shirts will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation BC & Yukon.

We are very proud to share the news that Make-A-Wish Canada has recognized EA employee Wendell Harlow with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee Award for her significant contributions to the Make-A-Wish organization.

The Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal marks the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the Throne and also honors significant contributions and achievements by Canadians. Wendell started working with the organization back in 1997 and over the past 15 years has granted wishes for kids on behalf of EA. Along with Make-A-Wish CEO of British Columbia Ross Hetherington, she created the EA Challenge to raise funds for the organization as well. Congratulations Wendell!
